Cabin and Boat Rental FAQs

Thank you for considering Gathering Place Resort & Lodge for your vacation destination. At our resort, our mission is to create an environment in the tranquility of the Wisconsin outdoors where families and friends can gather 

and build memories.

To acquaint yourself with our resort’s policies and procedures, please review our cabin and boat reservation guidelines and frequently asked questions below. 

To secure your reservation, Gathering Place Resort, requires the cost of a first night's stay as a deposit. If you must cancel, please do so as soon as possible. If you cancel at least 60 days before check-in, you will receive a 100% refund (minus a $100 processing fee).  If you cancel between 60 and 30 days before check-in, you will receive a 50% refund (minus a $100 processing fee).  If you do not cancel within 30 days of your check-in date, please understand that your deposit and any payments are non-refundable. Similarly, your payments are non-refundable if you shorten your stay or check out early. 

Our cancellation policy not only protects us, but also ensures that all our guests 

have access to up-do-date information and are treated equally when looking at 

cabin availability. 

Note, too, that rates, terms and conditions are subject to change.

Do you consider any extenuating circumstances?

We certainly do. For example, things like unexpected illnesses or death are extenuating circumstances. We delineate them below, but in general, an extenuating circumstance must have occurred before the official check-in date for your reservation. 

Will I be charged a fee if I cancel because of an extenuating circumstance?

We must apply a $100 processing fee to a cancellation made under these circumstances. 

What are these extenuating circumstances? 

We have limited extenuating circumstances to the following: 

• Death of a guest or an immediate family member of the guest
• Unexpected serious illness or injury affecting the guest or member of the guest’s party
• Government-mandated obligations including jury duty, travel restrictions, court appearances, and military deployment
• Natural disasters that prevent travel to Gathering Place Resort & Lodge, or that make it unsafe to travel
• Epidemic disease or illness that suddenly affects a region or an entire group of people based on determinations by the World Health Organization or CDC, and local authorities (See our Covid-19 page.)
• Travel restrictions imposed by a government, law enforcement agency, or military that prevent travel to or from Gathering Place Resort & Lodge

Pontoon boats and fishing boats with motors are available for our guests to rent by the day. You must be at least 25 years old to rent either type of boat. Call the Resort Office at 715-354-3029 to reserve a boat.

Resort guests who are boat owners may rent dock space and must rent a trailer space. Space is limited so please make your reservation when reserving your cabin.
